1. She was carrying 1316 passengers and a crew of 891.

crew n.轮船或飞机或钻井平台上的工作人员(不包括高级职员);一起工作的班子

例: the officers and crew of the SS London伦敦号轮船上的全体工作人员

the camera crew电影(或电视)摄制组

和family 一样,当crew表示一个集体时,和动词三单连用,当 crew表示一个个成员时,与动词复数形式连用。

例:

Almost every family in the village owns a television.

All my family enjoy skiing.

1)collision n.碰撞;(意见,看法等)冲突

collide v.猛撞或互撞;(人,目的,意见等)冲突

例:

As the bus turned the corner, it collided with a car.

The ships collided in fog.

The interests of the two countries collide.

The liner was in collision with an oil-tanker.

Her political activities brought her into collision with the law.

2) to one’s horror 让某人感到恐惧的是

to one’s 情绪名词 表示“让某人感到怎样的是”,这样的结构,如果用在简单句中则放在句首,如果句子含宾从,则放在谓语动词和宾从之间。常见的词组有:
